The belt reaches, but the buckle is hard to find or reach. It might sit deep between the seat and console. Choose a rigid extender, which lifts the buckle instead of adding length.
I need a better belt position.

How to choose the right length
Choose the shortest length that lets you buckle comfortably. Extra length is not extra safety. A longer extender than you need can leave the lap belt sitting too high.
- Sit the way you normally drive or ride, with the belt pulled out as far as it comfortably goes.
- Estimate the gap between the metal tongue and the buckle. This tells you how much length you need.
- Pick the shortest length that closes the gap with a little room to spare. Regular extenders come in 7 or 10 inches. Adjustable extenders let you set 9 to 26 inches.
- Check the belt position after buckling. The lap belt should sit low across your hips, not across your stomach, and the shoulder belt should cross your collarbone and chest. The belt should lie flat with no twists.
- Tug test. Pull on both connections (the extender in the receptacle, and your belt in the extender) to confirm each is latched.
- If the lap belt rides up or does not sit low, stop and choose a shorter length, or contact us with your vehicle and we will help you pick.

Seat belt tongue and buckle designs differ between manufacturers, models and even model years. The front seats and rear seats of the same vehicle can also use different tongue styles. A close match is not enough, so choose by make, model and year, tell us which seat it is for, and never move an extender from one vehicle to another.

Price is a poor guide on its own. Check these instead:
- Certification. Look for E4 or E8 certification. An extender without it has not been independently tested for strength in a collision.
- Exact vehicle match. The extender must match your vehicle's make, model and year, and the seat you will use it in.
- Quality materials. The webbing should feel like your factory belt, and the metal parts should click in with a solid latch.
- Easy returns if it does not fit. Fit is the main risk, so a clear return policy matters.
